History, Humor and the Heart of Cubs Spring Training

Every year come March the Cubs will win the World Series!

This funny and moving film covers the history of Chicago Cubs Spring Training, from Springs Valley, Indiana to Catalina Island, to the early days in Arizona, right up to the present day.

"The Boys of Spring" is a documentary film by Timothy J. Sheridan, long-time Cubs Spring Training Public Address Announcer. Timothy brings a unique perspective--a Cubs fanatic who is lucky enough to have the best seat in the house! The film combines video, photographs, interviews, and personal stories that reveal the intimate world of spring training baseball, a time when players, coaches, and fans let down their guard.

Every year for 25 seasons, Timothy has mixed, mingled, and witnessed the spring rites of the Cubs and their colorful cast of characters including Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Harry Caray, Fergie Jenkins, Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, Mark Grace, Shawn Dunston, Sammy Sosa and many, many more!

"The Boys of Spring" brings to life memories for both young and old, centered on a time of year when anything and everything is possible. A sure-fire Cubs collectible with never seen footage of America's favorite ballclub. This will be a must-have DVD for every true Cubs fan!

CubsAZ.com and “The Boys of Spring" documentary are the creation of longtime Cubs spring training public address announcer Timothy J. Sheridan. In the spring of 1984, Timothy started helping out at old HoHoKam Park as a part-time public address announcer/part-time gofer. It was spring of 1989 when he took over the full-time P.A. duties at Hohokam Park and has been a fixture at Cubs spring training ever since.
