“The Voice of Summer” is the last filmed interview with late Chicago Cubs broadcasting legend Vince Lloyd. While working on “The Boys of Spring” documentary, Cubs spring training P.A. Announcer Timothy Sheridan traveled to Green Valley, Arizona in 2002 to interview the former Cubs announcer.

What transpired was one of the most compelling, open, and honest interviews given by a Cubs insider. That day in 2002 Timothy joined Vince in his home to watch the Cubs on WGN and talk about Vince’s 23 years as Radio Voice of the Chicago Cubs, and his insights on 38 years as a WGN sports announcer.

From 1965 to 1987, Vince was WGN’s radio play-by-play man for the Cubs. For many who listened on radio, or grew up during that time, Lloyd was as some of the Cubs management referred to him "The Voice of Summer".
